Got Mice? 2 Tips To Get Them Out

Blog

If you have seen a mouse in your house, you need to take steps now to get it out. Because you have seen one, you may have more than you think. If you have several, a female may become pregnant and make the problem even worse. To help you, keep reading for some tips on getting these mice out.

Things You Can Do

There are many things you can do on your own. Setting up traps is the most common way to kill mice. Visit a pet store or a home improvement store to purchase mouse traps. There are many types available, such as snap traps, electronic traps, and catch-and-release traps. No matter what you choose, set up the trap in areas where you see mice. They often like to hide behind appliances, such as a washer and dryer in a laundry room. Check the traps daily and remove dead mice as you see them.

There is mouse poison that you can also use. They will chew on it and then soon die. You could place a block inside your home, as well as in your crawlspace. If you have children and/or animals, make sure you place the poison block where they cannot get to it.

Besides these things, do not let the mice have access to food. Put all loose food in sealed containers. Pick up food crumbs from floors and counters nightly.

Hire a Pest Control Company

If you continue to see mice in your home, contact a pest control company. They will use poison and may also set up traps in different areas. This includes placing traps in the attic, in the basement, in crawlspaces, and more. The most common area you will find mice is where they enter and leave your home.

One benefit of a pest control company is they can determine how the mice are getting in. Once found, these areas are sealed so no new mice can get in. For the ones left inside, they will die from eating the poison or by engaging with the mouse traps.

The pest control company can also give you many tips on things you can do to prevent future problems with mice. This may be keeping everything inspected for holes and repairing them regularly.
